Roosevelt Elementary School has been named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2023-24 by the U.S. Department of Education. This prestigious award recognizes schools for outstanding academic achievement or making significant progress in closing the achievement gap.
Roosevelt Elementary School is one of only 13 schools in Michigan and one out of 353 schools nationwide to receive this award this year. The school was selected based on its performance on state assessments and its commitment to closing the achievement gap for all students.
“This award is not only a huge honor but also a testament to the hard work that our students and staff do on a daily basis,” said Principal Rachel Kyncl. “We are proud and excited to be recognized as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School and we will continue to focus on “Courage, Knowledge, and Relationships” in all that we do.”
Roosevelt Elementary School is known for its innovative teaching practices and its focus on student engagement. The school offers a variety of activities and programs to meet the needs of all students.
“Becoming a National Blue Ribbon school is both an honor and a responsibility, said Superintendent Greg Eding." "We are committed to providing all students with a high quality education that prepares them for future success. Congratulations to the amazing students and staff at Roosevelt Elementary!”
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. The U.S. Department of Education invites nominated schools to submit applications describing their teaching methods, student supports, and other initiatives that contribute to their success.
